Licence Agreement
Effective 28 October 2026. This is the end-user licence agreement shown when you install RetrievalP. Buying passes is covered by the terms of service.
Who this agreement is with
This agreement is between you and al-Itawa Jusef, Teknologiapuistonkatu 2 C 37, 53850 Lappeenranta, Finland, Business ID 3578144-1 (“we”). By installing or using RetrievalP you accept it. If you don't accept it, don't install or use it.
What you may do
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use RetrievalP. You may use the free preview scan without paying. The full scan and saving recovered files need a valid pass, and removing leftovers from an iPhone needs the clean-up add-on, as described in the terms of service. RetrievalP is licensed to you, not sold. The app checks the status of your licence key with our licence server from time to time.
Use it only on devices you are allowed to use
Use RetrievalP only on an iPhone that you own, or that its owner has clearly allowed you to scan. Using it to get into someone else's photos without permission may be a crime and is not allowed under this licence. We may cancel a licence key that is used this way, without a refund to the extent the law allows.
What you may not do
You may not share or resell licence keys, or reverse engineer, modify or bypass the licence check, except where the law allows this regardless of this agreement. You may not copy RetrievalP to sell it or give it to others; they can download it from retrievalp.com themselves.
Removing leftovers (the clean-up add-on)
The clean-up add-on permanently deletes the leftover files it lists from the iPhone. It only runs after you confirm, and it doesn't delete photos in your library. Deleted leftovers can't be brought back, so save anything you want to keep first. Some leftovers can't be removed this way; the app tells you how many. To clear everything from an iPhone, use Erase All Content and Settings on the phone.
Your data
RetrievalP works entirely on your computer and never uploads your photos or phone data. It goes online only to check your pass, to collect your key when you buy from the app, and to look for updates. The privacy policy explains the little data we do handle.
Updates
RetrievalP tells you when a newer version is available; it doesn't install updates by itself. Updates may change how RetrievalP works, but we will not take away features of a pass you have already paid for during its validity.
RetrievalP depends on how iOS, Windows and Apple's iPhone driver work, and a future update to them could stop it working. If that happens while your pass is valid, contact us and we will fix it or refund you.
Our responsibility
If you are a consumer, you have legal rights when digital content is faulty, and nothing in this agreement limits them. If RetrievalP doesn't work as described, we will fix it or, if we can't, refund you.
Apart from those rights, and to the extent the law allows: RetrievalP is provided as it is, we don't promise that it will recover any particular file, and our total liability to you is limited to the price you paid for RetrievalP. This limit doesn't apply to harm we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, to death or personal injury, or to anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. Keep your own backups of anything important.
Ending this licence
This licence ends if you break this agreement. You can end it at any time by uninstalling RetrievalP.
Third-party software and trademarks
RetrievalP includes open-source components listed in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt, each under its own licence. RetrievalP is an independent product and is not affiliated with, authorised, sponsored or endorsed by Apple Inc. iPhone, iOS, Mac and macOS are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Windows is a trademark of the Microsoft group of companies.
Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of Finland. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts there.
General
This agreement and the terms of service are the whole agreement about using RetrievalP. If a court finds part of it invalid, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a right straight away, we haven't given it up. We may transfer this agreement to someone who takes over RetrievalP, without reducing your rights; you may not transfer it. You may not use RetrievalP where the law forbids it, including in breach of sanctions or export laws.
